Here are just a few success stories that show how DP&G goes above and beyond to solve the real-world printing challenges for our clients.
College Confidential: Helping MEFA get it right the first time
Client:
Anna Scimemi of the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA), a non-profit organization dedicated to making higher education more accessible and affordable through innovative programs like the U.Plan prepaid tuition plan.
Challenge:
Each year, MEFA sends all U.Plan participants, some 20,000 households, customized report packages containing a variety of personalized materials. For Scimemi, quality printing is important, but quality control is mission-critical.
“Because these packages contain confidential personal and financial information, it is absolutely essential that each participant receives the right information,” Scimemi says. “Everything has to be perfect.”
Solution:
DP&G meets the challenge with strict attention to the details. We select the appropriate, trusted vendors. Then we ensure quality control at every step—from file merge and printing to collating and mailing—to make certain there is no mismatched data. We also manage the production of a variety of custom-made components—including special window envelopes and custom plastic folders—so the complete package reflects the quality branding that marks all MEFA communications.
Result:
“We’re definitely happy with DP&G,” Scimemi says, adding she appreciates having a single, reliable partner for all her printing needs that is invested in getting it right the first time. “I know that I can pick up the phone and they are always there to help.”
MEFA also benefits from our expertise and ability to provide the right solutions. “DP&G understands our organization and our mission,” Scimemi says. “Their ability to provide options that meet our needs and their willingness to find the best way to get the job done are definitely value adds.”

Generous Benefits: Getting it all together for Charles River
Client:
Susan Blane, Director of Employee Benefits for Charles River Laboratories, a leading global provider of research solutions that advance drug discovery and development.
Challenge:
The company’s employee benefits manual is a crucial source of benefits information for more than 8,500 Charles River employees across the country. Each year, this important binder must be updated, printed and distributed to company locations nationwide.
“Given all the various pieces that go into our benefits manual, producing it and putting it all together is a huge task,” Blane says. “There’s just no way we could do it ourselves.”
Solution:
DP&G meets the challenge with a complete, end-to-end printing and distribution solution. Once the customer provides the content, DP&G does it all—from selecting and buying the binders to printing all content pages and color-coded tab dividers with pockets. Then the manuals are painstakingly assembled, ensuring the right information is in the right place. Then DP&G handles distribution to the more than 15 Charles River locations across the country.
Result:
“With DP&G, we get exceptional quality from beginning to end,” Blane says. “The print quality is great, they get the project done extremely fast, and they free me and my staff to focus on our work.”
Blane says working with DP&G is always a positive experience. “We just love working with DP&G. They’re proactive, keeping us on schedule. They’re creative, offering ideas for doing things better or saving money. And they’re fun.”
